Interval Training
Who wants to work out in a stuffy sweaty gym on boring cardio machines, I have watched men and women do the same so-called "fat loss cardio workouts" for months and months without results, this happens all of the time. I use the interval training technique or (high-Intensity Training HIT) it is one of the most effective fat burning forms of exercise for the following reasons:-
- It burns more calories than low intensity training, meaning you can burn more fat in shorter workouts.
- High intensity training will also boost your metabolism long after the workout is done. This means you continue to burn calories and fat for long periods after you have done training.
- It combats boredom.
- There is nothing nicer than working out in the fresh air.
Exercise smarter, not harder for fat burning.!
I always see people making the same mistakes in the gym, unless you are training for an endurance event always do your resistance workout first, it takes 20/30 minutes to tap into your fat stores, when you first start your workout your body will be burning carbohydrates. In order to lose weight you need to burn fat so by doing your cardio session after weight training will mean that your heart rate is in the target zone recommended for weight loss – work smarter)
Body Fat
One pound of fat contains approximately 3,500 calories, so to lose one pound a week, a person should consume approximately 3,500 fewer calories per week. This can be done by reducing the daily intake by 500 calories per day (500 x 7 days will provide a deficit of 3,500 calories per week). To lose 2 pounds per week, a deficit of 1,000 calories per day is required.
This can either be accomplished through burning the calories through exercise, creating a caloric deficit through your diet or a combination of both. I recommend a combination of both because it's the easiest way to incorporate into an overall fitness plan. Work on making a small change in your diet to create a 500 calorie deficit and then add exercise to burn the other 500 calories.
